PINX, the world-class golf club and the epitome of Korean
golf clubs.
PINX is the epitome of golf clubs in Korea and the
first Korean course to make the 100 best courses list compiled by
US Golf Digest and UK Golf World in 2005.
Combining traditional concepts of a world-class golf
course with new concepts of the 21st century, Theodore G. Robinson,
the renowned US golf course designer, has designed the PINX golf
course, which has 27 holes, all providing a view of the Halla
mountain and the sea, offering a unique experience as soon as you
enter the course.
In one glance, you take in the harmonic view of blue
sea, the Halla Mountain and volcanic cones on a grassy plane lying
between mid-size mountains of great natural beauty. Year-round play
is possible due to the Kentucky blue-grass planted in all zones of
the golf course, a source of pride to PINX which yields green
fairways, greens and rough even in the winter season.
In addition, the clubhouse, designed by Itami Jun,
who is a well-known architect and the recipient of a French
cultural award, is regarded as the new ideal in architecture that
harmoniously combines nature with art..
In regards to hosting the Ballantine's Championship, PINX have renovated the golf course in order to increase the level of difficulty. The total distance has been increased 358 yards, originally from 7003 yards to 7361 yards. 8 new championship tees, 18 new bunkers have been made and 50 existing bunkers were reshaped.
Apart from enjoying the sport, the founder hopes that visitors will appreciate nature and the elegant culture and art of PINX's architecture, as well as the impressive works of art to be found in various locations around the club facilities.
